About Me

Student researcher at Wayzata High School with interests in engineering, computer science, and community service

My Journey

Hi, I'm Aman Goud, a student at Wayzata High School with a passion for exploring the intersection of engineering, computer science, and community impact. I'm drawn to projects that combine technical innovation with real-world problem-solving—whether that's using machine learning to detect environmental pollution, building software tools that improve efficiency, or designing hands-on solutions that serve my community.

Academic Interests & Technical Exploration

My academic work spans environmental research, software development, and data-driven analysis. I recently published a research paper in the Journal of Global Research (Vol. 11, Issue 2, 2025) on plastic waste pollution in Minnesota, proposing innovative frameworks that use satellite imaging and machine learning to detect and remediate contamination. This project allowed me to merge scientific inquiry with computational methods—an approach I find deeply rewarding.

Beyond formal research, I enjoy experimenting with new technologies, from building web applications and automation workflows to exploring AI-driven conversational systems. I believe that understanding how systems work—and how to build them—empowers me to create meaningful change.

Leadership & Service

I'm actively involved in leadership roles and community service initiatives. As Vice President of Business Professionals of America, I've competed at regional, state, and national levels, honing my skills in communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking. I also serve on the Youth Council for the Minnesota Department of Health, working on youth tobacco prevention initiatives that directly impact public health in my state.

As an Eagle Scout candidate, I recently completed my Eagle Scout Service Project: designing and building two durable utility carts for the Hindu Temple of Minnesota. This project taught me valuable lessons in project management, collaboration, and the importance of creating lasting solutions that serve a greater purpose. Through Scouting, I've learned that leadership isn't just about guiding others—it's about listening, adapting, and taking responsibility for outcomes.

Personal Philosophy

I believe that the most meaningful work happens at the intersection of curiosity, skill, and service. Whether I'm researching environmental challenges, coding a new feature, or organizing a community event, I strive to approach each task with care, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning. I'm energized by challenges that push me beyond my comfort zone and by opportunities to collaborate with people who share a passion for making a positive difference.

My Journey

From an early age, I was curious about how things worked—taking apart electronics, asking endless questions, and building makeshift inventions. Over time, that curiosity evolved into a love for engineering and computer science. Today, I'm committed to using these interests to tackle real-world problems, from environmental sustainability to improving community infrastructure.

I've also had the privilege of contributing to a book chapter, sharing insights on youth perspectives in public health and community engagement. This experience reinforced my belief in the power of storytelling and knowledge-sharing to inspire others and drive change.

As I continue my academic and personal journey, I'm excited to explore new frontiers in technology, deepen my understanding of complex systems, and find new ways to contribute to the communities I care about.
